IceFil® intelligent fabric technology reacts to moisture and cools skin when competition heats up
October 9, 2014 – Burnaby, B.C. – SUGOI Performance Apparel, a brand of Dorel Industries Inc. (TSX: DII.B, DII.A), introduced a brand new line of triathlon apparel on October 7, 2014, in scenic Kona, Hawaii at the Ironman World Championship – the 2015 RS ICE Tri Collection. Available for both men and women, the line is made up of the RS Ice Tri Suit, the RS Ice Tri Kit that includes the RS Ice Tri Tank and Short, as well as RS Ice Accessories.
“As the official performance apparel sponsor of Ironman, we are committed to engineering pinnacle products and industry-leading apparel for triathletes,” said Kyle Weiner, President SUGOI. “Over 26 years of research and design enables us to design world class product for triathletes so that they can succeed on the world’s biggest stage.”
In 2015, the SUGOI RS Ice Tri Collection combines Intelligent Fabrics and Engineered Performance. Together, these elements avoid a workout meltdown and activate the body’s inner cool. Intelligent Fabrics such as IceFil® are designed to react with moisture, working to cool the skin when it comes into contact with sweat. Engineered Performance encapsulates the design, fit and construction techniques of SUGOI’s apparel to provide athletes with every performance advantage available.
The RS Tri Suit and RS Tri Short both use a 3-way fabric design to improve thermal regulation, performance, and rider comfort even further. The outer legs feature a dimpled fabric that provides an aerodynamic surface. Slim front panels use an ultra-thin fabric for extra breathability. A more robust fabric is found at the inner legs and chassis allowing for more durability around the chamois. Introducing IceFil® to the already cutting-edge RS Tri collection will help triathletes, professionals and weekend warriors reach their goals no matter how high the mercury rises.
“For 2015, we’ve gone to new lengths in our mission to produce Ironman-caliber apparel and elevate our award winning RS Short technology even more,” said Rob Gill, VP of Design SUGOI.
“Advanced zone construction, aero and hydrodynamic construction for performance in or out of the water, and our renowned approach to fit, complemented by exciting new patterns will help any triathlete stand out from the pack.”
