Wilton, Conn. – January 23, 2015 – GURU has launched the GURU Academy Advisory, a global collective of industry-leading bike fitters and retail experts that will collaborate with the GURU team to continually enhance the training curriculum at the GURU Academy.
“GURU’s leadership position in bike fit goes beyond our fit system,” said Morten Kristiansen, GURU General Manager. “The GURU Academy sets the standard for fit science education and retail training, and our new fit advisory will serve to further enhance our training program.”
The GURU Academy Advisory, featuring 8 representatives from North America and Europe, will attend GURU Academy training classes throughout 2015 – providing attendees with key insights into proper fit technique, retail engagement and more. Representatives from North America include David Ripley and Mat Steinmetz of 51 Speedshop (Indianapolis, IN).
“Performing bike fit at a high level is essential for modern retail,” said Steinmetz. “We are looking forward to sharing our insights with the GURU team to create the ultimate training experience for bike shops and fitters alike.”
Additional representatives from North America include Jonathan Blyer from ACME Bicycle Co. (Brooklyn, NY), Ian Murray from TTS Fit Studio (Los Angeles, CA) and Tim Ray from Maplewood Bicycle (St. Louis, MO). European representatives include Robin Decottignies from Energy Lab (Belgium, Holland) and Brian & Helen Hall from Ten-Point (United Kingdom).
“The GURU Academy emphasizes hands-on learning and engagement,” said Jane Pearson, GURU Director of Education & Business Development. “The addition of our advisory will give us invaluable feedback for continued development.”
